Amman Deep Singh Seehra is an attorney and expert in diversity and inclusion with over 15 years of experience. He works as a Senior Program Specialist with the United States Department of Agriculture where he manages partnerships to increase food security and reduce hunger for children and low-income people. In addition, he is the Northeast Regional Director for the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund (SALDEF) which works to empower Sikh Americans by building dialogue, deepening understanding, promoting civic and political participation, and upholding social justice and religious freedom for all Americans. With SALDEF, he has conducted dozens of cultural awareness trainings, developed a legislative internship and leadership program for students, and represents the Sikh community as part of SALDEF’s National Speakers Bureau.
Amman also founded the ONE Project which is a non-profit organization designed to unite people from different faiths and backgrounds to address social needs in our community through volunteerism and education. His leadership has directed a team that has focused on issues of hunger, education, and social justice.
Amman is also the Vice Chair of the Mercer Vicinage Advisory Committee on Minority Concerns, Co-Vice President of the New Jersey Leadership Program, Trustee for the Central Jersey Sikh Association, Board Member for Optimize Health, Administrator of the Jesse Guleria Scholarship Fund, and a member of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Young Professional Group who honored him as the 2016 Young Professional of the Year.
